Irini Tzortzoglou, emerged the winner, on Friday night – 29/03-, in the biggest cooking show production of the BBC, MasterChef for 2019.
A retired banker Irini, the 60-year ‘yiayia – grandmother’, originating from Crete, and now a resident of Kartmel in the county of Cumbria in northwestern England, from the very first moment showed her talent in the contest, which led her to the finals of the show, where she was named the winner.
Irini, using aromas and flavours of Greek cuisine, was up against 57 chefs before reaching the all-female final, where she wowed the judges with squid risotto, griddled lamb chops and fig leaf ice cream.
