On cliff edge: Torrential rainfalls cause landslides on Santorini (videos)

Homeowners in Firostefani on the island of Santorini are desperately seeking for help, after the bad weather triggered landslides and some homes are now on the edge of the cliff.

 

The video below was posted by the Director of Environment of the Municipality of Firostefani is revealing of the nightmare locals live in the last couple of days.

Barometric low Okeanis that stroke Santorini with torrential rains in the past few days caused damages also in the infrastructure.

Municipality workers are struggling to repair the damages on the road network.

Authorities call on motorists to be aware of precarious situations especially in the area near the airport as well as to avoid the beach area from Monolithos to Karterados.
