Road accident victim left abandoned

A Zakynthian man left seriously injured is hospitalized. The man, who was involved in an accident was left abandoned in the middle of the road.
The incident took place at 7 in the afternoon of Friday 11th of January, when the victim GM, a resident of Alikanas, was driving his motorcycle to Katastari. Suddenly, as he told us, he saw a passenger car ride in the opposite direction, colliding head on with him. As a result, he lost consciousness, a little later he was found injured on the road and was taken to hospital, while the motorcycle suffered serious damage.
The driver of the car abandoned the accident site and the injured person whilst headed in an unknown direction. It is worth noting that after the accident the perpertrator has not been identified at this stage For this reason, Mr. G.M. appeals to anyone who saw something or to those who keeps a car repair shops, perhaps someone had repairs done recently and if they would contact the Police Station at Alykes.
“How I am alive, is a miracle. After the head on collision I was injured, I was abandoned and nothing was left of my bike. At the same time, I have made a complaint that the Alykes Polie Station did not address the problem seriously. My wife has repeatedly been to the police station and can not get a solution. Nobody cared to ask me what happened or to start an investigation to locate the offender. I appeal to anyone who has seen or heard something, or has a garage that perhaps has had a damaged car come in for repairs to contact the police “said the victim who continues to be hospitalized.
The abandonment of a traffic incident on the road is regrettably described by the legislator as a misdemeanor, because in the cases of these abandonment victims, unfortunately, Article 306 of the Penal Code does not apply, but Article 43 of the Code, which is an unacceptable invention of the legislator who described as a misdemeanor the abandonment of victims of traffic accidents has created conditions of impunity for these unacceptable inhuman ways of abandoning victims on the streets.
