Epic achievement. Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas beat world number two and five-time champion Rafael Nadal in his home country Spain in the semifinals of the Mutual Madrid Open.
The 20-year-old Greek won with sets 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.
The Greek tennis star had previously lost three times to the “King of Clay.”
On Sunday’s finals, Tsitsipas plays against world number one, Serbian Novak Djokovic.
Tsitsipas is set to move up to a new-career high when the next rankings are released on Monday.
Currently ranked ninth in the world (with a career-best of number eight), Tsitsipas will be seventh with a loss against Djokovic, or sixth with a win, notes agonasports.
Tsitsipas’ fans celebrated the great victory on social media.
