Zakynthians will have to prepare for extreme weather conditions over the next few hours.
As you can see in the photo the storm is fast approaching. As of today it is believed “Victoria” will bring heavy rainfall along with strong winds.
For this reason the ferry boat company Levante Ferries have announced that their following routes have been cancelled.
14.45 from Zakynthos to Kyllini will not be operational today. Correspondingly, there will be no trips between 12.30 and 17.00 from Kyllini to Zakynthos.
The adverse weather conditions have already shown signs of its affects especially around the waterfront areas. Flooding caused by the sea in the area of Agia Triada, behind the ‘Red Rock’ building has caused havoc with drivers.
A note of precaution whilst out and about today and for tomorrow, with rainfall and thunderstorms more likely.
From Thursday onwards, the weather is expected to slowly subside as the front makes its way east.
The temperature as you can see will not drop, the warm southerly winds will be extremely powerful locally
