The last 24hr report on COVID-19 in Greece. 20 Dead!

The last 24 hour report was made by the spokesman of the Ministry of Health for coronavirus, Professor of Infectious Diseases Sotiris Tsiodras . It was announced 48 new outbreaks in Greece, bringing the total diagnosed to 743.

48 new outbreaks of coronavirus were confirmed in Greece on Tuesday afternoon, with the total number now at 743 , with 20 deaths in total.

45 patients are intubated out of the 134 people reported to be hospitalized, according to Professor Sotiris Tsiodras.

The average age of those in ICUs is 68, he said. It is noteworthy that the intubated patients were 35 yesterday. Mr Tsiodras explained, however, that the increase did not rise rapidly within the last 24-hour period but that the relevant data had reached EODY only today.

Most of these people have some underlying disease, the expert oncologist added.

Finally, 32 patients received a discharge from the hospitals.

It was noted on Monday that the number of diagnosed cases was 695, while, according to a spokesman for the Covid-19 Ministry of Health, the actual number of cases is estimated at 8,000 to 10,000 in Greece.

 20 dead.

The top 20 deaths from coronavirus in Greece, Sotiris Tsiodras announced.

Earlier today, local media reported that a sample of a 41-year-old Kastoria man who passed away the day before was found positive. The 41-year-old mother of three had other health problems and was visiting the hospital for the last fortnight. Following the results of the tests, her family was quarantined and all those who had been in contact with her lately.

The 41-year-old is the fourth victim of the new virus in Kastoria, according to local media, and the 20th overall in our country, as the professor confirmed.

On Tuesday, the deaths of two more of our fellow Covid-19s were announced. He was an 86-year-old man who was reported to have serious health problems and was hospitalized at Sotiria Hospital, and a 64-year-old man who was also hospitalized at Sotiria Hospital.

The average age of the pandemic’s victims is 75, according to the head of the ESA.

Outbreaks in 197 countries

Speaking about the spread of the pandemic across the globe, Mr Tsiodras said that to date 396,000 cases have been recorded in 197 countries.

“No country is missing from the map of the spread of the new virus,” Mr Tsiodras said.

In addition, according to the professors’s introductory remarks during the press conference, the virus causes digestive disorders as well as loss of smell or taste.

Nikos Chardalias responded to criticism of the government’s quarantine of those who were repatriated from Spain, saying “we have prevented a health bomb ready to explode”.

The Undersecretary of State for Civil Protection even said that 21 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been found on Greeks returning flights from Barcelona and Madrid and that inspections are continuing.
