Snow in the mountains of zakynthos
Citizens from villages as low as Katastari, Kalipado and Tsilivi were shocked to se snow in the early hours of this morning.
The bad weather “Medea” reached Zakynthos. Early morning Monday 15/02/2021, light snowfall started and a press release was immediately issued by the Zakynthos Sub-Region, where it draws the attention of drivers moving in specific mountainous areas of the island.
Early in the morning in the following areas is the Civil Protection of the Counter-Region, with the person in charge, Maria Mouzaki coordinating the crews on foot.
Pay close attention to the following villages:
“The temporary snowfall in combination with the low temperature that prevails tonight 14/02/2021 in Zakynthos, have created a serious problem on the Provincial Road from T.K. Pigadakion up to 500m after the area of Chartata of T.K. Katastariou. All drivers moving in these areas are requested to be especially careful due to the slippery roads, as well as to avoid unnecessary movements.
Also in the early morning hours of Monday 15/02/2021 the snowfall in the mountainous areas attracts the attention of drivers in the villages of Volimes, Orthonies, Agios Leontas, Kiliomenos and Agala.
