A tragedy is all that can be said in regards to an accident that happened yesterday.
At approximately 3.50p.m a 67 year old and her few month old granddaughter were found dead. A car struck them while walking on the sidewalk.
The accident happened in the Kamares area just outside of the town Aegio, when a driver of the a car lost control for unknown reasons and struck the 67-year-old, holding the infant in her arms.
The driver fled, leaving the two on the asphalt but shortly thereafter, police located him and arrested him.
Zakynthos Informer would like to send condolences to the family.
