Greece is one of the most popular destinations for Russian tourists for another year, with tour operators specializing in trips to our country and local market players estimating that this year, if health conditions allow, there will be at least 400,000 to 500,000 Russian visitors to Greece..
This optimistic message emerged during the MITT 2021 International Tourism Exhibition in Russia. This took place from March 16 to 18 at the Crocus Expo City in Moscow. EOT participated after a year of absence, due to the pandemic. The Greek participation, in fact, yesterday won the “Bright Exhibiting” award, received from the Director of MITT, Artem Chernyshev, the Head of the EOT Russia & CIS Service, Polykarpos Efstathiou.

Greece participated this year as a partner country with a 153m sq kiosk. Dominated by the slogan of the new advertising campaign for Greek tourism “All you want is Greece”, as well as five co-authors, including the largest tour operators in Russia for Greek destinations, Mouzenidis Travel and TEZ Tour.
Ch. Theocharis: “Greece is an ideal holiday choice”
On the first day of the exhibition, a message/invitation from the Minister of Tourism, Harry Theocharis, to the travel agents and journalists was displayed at the Greek pavilion.
The Minister of Tourism, pointed out the full preparation of Greece to offer quality and at the same time safe hospitality services to its visitors, by designing a detailed business plan for the opening of tourism, underlined:
“Traditionally, both luxury tourism and wellness tourism, Pilgrimage tourism, as well as the two-type “sun and sea”, win the hearts of friends and visitors from Russia. We believe that this year it can be further strengthened and we can achieve even more happy tourists. We all need it! For this reason we have worked hard and created the conditions so that this summer, Greece proves to be an ideal holiday choice. We are waiting for you!”
The inauguration of the Greek pavilion was attended by the Ambassador of Greece in Moscow, Ekaterini Nasika, and the Consult General, Nikolaos Krikos, While today EOT participated as a partner in a large event of the TEZ Tour for tourism executives, journalists and other tourism professionals , to which Mr. Theocharis will address a new message. A total of 50 regions of the Russian Federation and 15 international partners are taking part in the Exhibition So far it has been visited by more than 18,000 representatives of the Russian and international tourism industry.
