The womens team of Doksa Pigadakia are going from one victory to another.
Specifically, the team has found its pace and is “flattening” all their opponents on the playing ground. Yiannis Vertzagias’ girls were consistent on Saturday afternoon at Macheradas’ ground against the team of Poulakidas Argolida, doing their duty to win with 4-0, with the goals of Voutsina (2), Antiohos and Lombotesi, for the 8th game of the championship of the third national division.
After this victory the Zakynthian team is ranked first with 18 points, tying with the strong team of Ikaros Petrotos with the Achaia team having its day off. The difference from the 3rd team in the rankings remains at 5 points. Next match for the Doksa team is an away game, on 17th March against Aris Tripolis.
A second report with reference to the same team –
This years’ course of Doksa Pigadakia, in the 4th group of the 3rd national division, is impressive, since from game to game shows that they can reach the promotion to the second division. The only womens team on the island is doing an excellent job this year with coach Yannis Vertzagia, even several talented girls were very recently called to the national girls team. Another achievement for Doksa.
Christana E., Pilika K., Griva Ang., Bekiri L., Manesi Z., Arvanitaki A. were invited to the national girls team, where they will show their talent and have the opportunity to make a further step in their career.
Note that Doksa Pigadakia recently received two wards for its work by the EPS of Zakynthos, since Ang. Voutsina, who competes from Kefalonia and is one of the top players of the team, got a commemorative plaque and also the president, Anastasia Korfiatis, for her multifaceted offer.
The dream continues for Doksa Pigadakia, where no one knows where the frantic course will end.
