After the end of the General Assembly that took place today Monday 11/10/2021 at 11:00 am with an absolute majority of members and with topics for discussion:
- Work
- Everyday life and safety of employees in EFKA
- Car safety and employee hygiene
Issues that we have discussed several times with the Mayor Mr. Aretakis and the head of the Cleaning Department Mr. Tourkakis and solutions were never given.
For this reason and for many more problems that have arisen in our workplace and after a proposal by the President Mr. Hariatis Spyridon, which was accepted, the body decided to abstain from all activities for five days and not collect waste as a measure of pressure on the Mayor Mr. Aretakis and the head of the Cleanliness Management Department Mr. Tourkakis, who are responsible for the current situation in the area of Apokomidi.
After recommendations of the Zakynthos Traffic Police and payment of fines that have been imposed on fellow drivers, who are unable to pay them (for KTEO, car insurance, tires, etc.), without having any responsibility.
We do not ask for anything irrational, we asked and ask to work in a healthy and safe place, to have safe vehicles, functional and to have the legal registration documents as provided by the law, as all civilian drivers have an obligation to comply with, without anyone being excluded.
Mr. Mayor and Mr. Tourkakis must understand and implement these, they have no right to play with the life and safety of employees.
