A 49-year-old man is being taken to Korydallos prison, Athens, after being found guilty of arson in Zakynthos.
More specifically, the 49-year-old from Zakynthos will serve a sentence of four and a half years. According to information, the specific man is an old acquaintance of the police authorities.
The 49-year-old from Zakynthos was arrested as he set fire to a plot of land next to his house, in the village of Ampelokipi, Zakynthos, two days ago. Fortunately, the Fire Department managed to extinguish the fire before it spread to nearby houses and plots.
The Zakynthos prosecutor’s office sentenced him to 4.5 years in prison and the convicted arsonist is now being taken to Korydallos prison.
It should also be noted that yesterday the news of a 14-year-old arsonist in the area Theologos of Fthiotida, caused shock across the country when admitting that he liked to light fires with a lighter.
