The emergency teleconference, in which the Deputy Regional Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Miliotis, had the role of coordinator, was attended by representatives from the eleven Municipalities of the Ionian Islands Region, Deputy Regional Governors, Service Directors of the Ionian region, representatives of the Security Forces, Police from all the Regional Units, representatives of the Health Structures of the islands, representatives of the Commercial Associations and the Regional Directorate of Education. Regarding our island, the Commander of the General Hospital, George Ragousis, also participated in the teleconference, who gave a picture of concerns coronavirus cases on our island.
What was stressed at the joint special meeting is that the Ionian Islands Region is on alert to avoid the spread of Covid19, on the occasion of new data, such as the opening of Secondary Schools from Monday, February 1st.

The Deputy Regional Governor of Zakynthos, George Stasinopoulos, when asked if further measures will be taken, stressed that this will be decided by the experts.

Mr. Stasinopoulos also noted that the Regional Unit of Zakynthos is doing everything possible to control the spread of the coronavirus on our island and the image of our place to be better.
