Carnival activities – if the epidemiological conditions allow it – are being planned by the newly formed Association “FESTA Di ZANTE”.
According to the announcement issued by the Association:
“The team of the Cultural Association FESTA Di ZANTE was founded 2 months ago to support the CULTURAL history of our Island and the” ZAKYNTHIAN CARNIVAL “.
It consists of people who love the Culture of ZAKYNTHOS!
For the last 25 years, the members of our association had, absolutely voluntarily, either the responsibility of coordinating the ZAKYNTHIAN CARNIVAL, or they were and are members of other CULTURAL ASSOCIATIONS.
The purpose of the association is the preservation of the ZAKYNTHIAN CARNIVAL CUSTOMS but also the realization of events that will respect the ZAKYNTHIAN CULTURAL TRADITION and will highlight our CULTURAL heritage.
At the present time and if the unprecedented pandemic allows, our association is preparing CARNIVAL ACTIVITIES for which detailed information will be provided in an upcoming announcement of our association .”
Zakynthos Informer reminds you that Carnival usually starts its activities from Tsiknopempti which falls this year on Thursday 24th February ending on Carnival Sunday the 6th of March, the day before Kathera Devtera (Clean Monday).
