Yesterday, Saturday 23 July 2022, the temporary detention (pretrial detention) was ordered against the foreigner who was arrested on Thursday 21st of July, for drug trafficking in Zakynthos.
In particular, a police operation, by the Security Department of Zakynthos, was carried out, from the evening of Tuesday (19.07.2022) to the noon of Thursday (21.07.2022), in the area of Laganas, in the context of the utilization of information on drug trafficking, which had as resulting in the arrest of a foreign trafficker.
Police officers from the Security Department, with the assistance of police officers from the Crime Prevention and Suppression Team (OPKE), managed to locate the trafficker, shortly after making a “transaction” with a foreign vacationer, who was arrested and found in possession and a small amount of cocaine was also seized.
At the time of detection, the trafficker had in possession, as well as in the car the trafficker was driving, a total of -17- packages of cocaine, while subsequently narcotics were found both in the storage area of a business maintained in the area of Laganas as well as at home.
