ZanteRun: Zakynthos acquires its own running competitions!! Half Marathon

 

If you like sporting events, then this will be the event for you!

Everything is ready for the “1st ZanteRun 2022″ for the period 3rd and up to the 5th of September, 2022. Competitions taking place on Saturday 4th September, will truly be an exciting event!
ZanteRun aims to hold running events on an annual basis, thus giving joy and creating memories, through organised sporting events. Their aim is also to strengthen the local development and to chart a continuous upward course for participants with a perfectly organised event!

Undoubtedly, this will be a unique sporting event that will overflow our Island with runners and visitors from all corners of Greece and abroad. The program will include 5 races, 21 km, 10 km, 5 km, 1 km children’s race as well as a Challenge run on a difficult route of 2.5 km.

If you are interested you can apply now for your position in each race.

The two-day event will be accompanied by a number of sporting events and a “Pasta Party”, while there will also be cultural events that will accompany the big celebration.

Traffic arrangements for the 1st ZanteRun

For the organization of the 1st ZanteRun, extraordinary road traffic measures will be taken.
Specifically, the port authority decided:
1) On Saturday 3rd September, between 4:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., the ban on the movement of any wheeled vehicle at the following points: a) in “Andrea Vezal” square (entrance-exit section), b) in street “D. Roma” from there up to the “Fallen Heroes” square and around the “Fallen Heroes” square and d) inside the pier of Agios Nikolaos Zakynthos (Porto).
2) The prohibition of stopping and parking on the streets “D. Rome” and “K. Lombardou”  towards D. Solomos square and specifically, from the Holy Church of Agios Nikolaos to the KTEL bus stop.  NO PARKING is allowed, NO STOPPING.
