When will we see strict measures lifted?
“At this time we have to be very careful so that we have a good effect and that the peak of the outbreak is mild,” the professor said.
“If we all manage and stay in our homes then the peak will be relatively mild,” said Infectious Diseases Professor Nikos Sypsas on the T.V programme “Now, Everything is Happening” hosted by Fai Mavragani. In regards to removing the measures taken by our government, Mr Sypsas stressed that it was much more difficult just to remove them, as a mistake could only cause the epidemic to return. ”
The professor emphasized that in our country we are currently experiencing a slow rise, “as cases take a week to double. In Italy, in February they doubled almost every day. ” As he emphasized, the measure of prohibition of traffic will have an effect in the next ten days. “At this time we have to be very careful so that we can have a good impact and for our peak to be a mild one.” As Mr Sypsas said, we will certainly have measures in April, but as he said, if all goes well by the end of May “we may get a bit in the clear”.
