Residents of Alykanas had a rude awakening this morning when burglars targeted an ATM at 4.55 am, attempting to blow it up. Their attack on the ATM caused damage to the machine, which is located in front of the local supermarket, on the main road heading towards Alykes.
Despite causing damage to the ATM (an explosion using gas), the burglars were unsuccessful in getting any cash and ran away.
The perpetrators of the crime are unknown, and the Zakynthos Police Department is currently investigating the crime in an effort to identify those who committed it.
