The Prime minister Boris Johnson had a press conference today on the course of the Covid Pandemic, vaccinations, and the roadmap.
Two questions on Travel came up in today’s press conference.
The first was from a member of the public on how often travel lists will be reviewed.
The Prime Minister said that the status of countries will be under constant review and that reviews will be carried out by the Joint Biosecurity Centre.
The Sun newspaper asked when people can book holidays.
The Prime Minister said Travel and holiday information will be confirmed in early May.
The lists that different countries will be on for this summer will be confirmed next month, and not before.
The Prime Minister said no one can guess what will happen and as well as the Global Travel Taskforce report there are many other factors.
Therefore at present there is no confirmation on what will happen in regards to international travel for UK citizens including countries that will be on the green/amber/red lists until an official announcement is made by the UK government in May.
