Chaos between seismologists.

Chaos has been caused among seismologists after the 5.2 Richter earthquake in Preveza on Tuesday morning.

Seismic activity in western Greece revealed a backdrop behind predictions and it seems a war between seismologists.

Akis Tselentis sent his predictions (from the BAN group) to the committee responsible under Mr Makropoulos, which was rejected in a voting scheme 19 to 1 by the committee.

“The VAN team is no longer sending its estimates to Greece, and the reason is simple, because the committee seemed to have it fixed and when a scientific assessment was made the assessments were leaked thus creating panic. That’s why the data will now only be given abroad, “Akis Tselentis said this morning when speaking on a morning T.V show.

Mr. Tselentis stressed that when he notices a very “active” region he makes an advanced statistical analysis for the wider region in this case in western Greece, and when he sees some anomalies, for example a domino phenomena, he then proceeds to forward relevant information. Mr Tselentis had sent a second letter in order to convene the committee responsible and take appropriate measures. “The committee chair leaked the information provided, thus causing ridiculous activities in western Greece, causing panic,” Akis Tselentis said.

Mr. Tselentis stressed that there should be attention in the next two months in the region of western Greece.

For his part, the Director of Geodesy Research at the Athens Observatory, Gerasimos Houliaras, stressed that when the committee was convened instead of discussing Mr. Tselentis’ views and the issues of BAN, the committee chairman Macropoulos said they would not discuss the evaluation thereof but he informed that he and Professor Lekkas, chairman of the OASP, had sent a letter to the Civil Protection Minister.

Mr. Houliaras pointed out that the details that were given, till now has not yet reached their hands.
