In a press release, the Regional offices of the Ionian Islands gives data to the latest updates of cases of COVID-19.
The Ionian Islands Region continues to regularly inform citizen by gathering information from Hellenic Health Organisation( EODY), the Greek Police, the Coast Guard, the Fire Service, and the Services of the Regional Units of the Ionian Islands.
INFORMATION FROM EODY ON CORONAVIRUS IN THE REGION OF IONIAN ISLANDS.
According to the information from EODY (April 27, 2020), the findings from the epidemiological surveillance of the disease coronavirus (COVID-19) remain at a total of 3. The recorded cases in the Ionian Islands Region are as follows:
- REGIONAL UNIT OF CORFU: 3 cases, of which the previous hospitalized case at the University General Hospital of Ioannina was discharged and remains under house arrest, and the remaining 2 are under home treatment.
- REGIONAL UNIT OF LEFKADA: 0 cases.
- REGIONAL UNIT OF KEFALONIA: 0 cases & ITHACA: 0 cases
- REGIONAL UNIT OF ZAKYNTHOS: 0 cases.
* The samples sent in the last 24 hours to the Pasteur Institute by the General Hospitals of the Ionian Islands Regional Units came out NEGATIVE to the coronavirus.
** The results are expected from new samples taken from the Hospitals of the Regional Units of the Ionian Islands.
*** For the cases, contact has been made or is currently underway and the General Secretariat for Civil Protection and EODY have issued instructions.
TOTAL CASES (from the beginning of the pandemic from COVID-19 until today)
According to the information from EODY, the findings from the epidemiological surveillance for coronavirus (COVID-19), a total amount of 13 have been recorded within the Ionian Islands Region and have the following:
- REGIONAL CORFU UNIT: 5 cases
- REGIONAL UNIT OF LEFKADA: 1 case
- REGIONAL UNIT OF KEFALONIA: 1 case & ITHACA: 0 cases
- REGIONAL UNIT OF ZAKYNTHOS: 6 cases
These are 8 men and 5 women – Ages: 58, 59, 56, 52, 67, 63, 30, 64, 74, 69, 29, 56 || MO: 56 years old – Deaths: 2 (of which – one man from Zakynthos and one man from Corfu)
APPLICATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL MEASURES.
- REGIONAL UNIT OF ZAKYNTHOS:
- A) In the last 48 hours (25 -26.04.2020), during the implementation of the traffic restriction measure, by the POLICE DIRECTION for unnecessary movements 5 violations during the control of vehicles and an equal number of administrative fines were imposed on 4 pedestrians and 1 against vehicles.
- B) From the ZAKYNTHOS PORT AUTHORITY, 146 inspections were carried out throughout the 48 hours (25-26.04.2020) in the area of its jurisdiction (port and land zone it supervises) and no administrative fines were imposed.
MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH CONTROLS
- REGIONAL UNIT OF ZAKYNTHOS:
From the Department of Environmental Hygiene & Health Control in 48 hours (25 -26.04.2020) 7 health inspections were carried out:- 3 Food and Beverage Retail Companies (Grocery Stores, etc.), 2 Food Operations, 1 Mass Food hall, 1 Wholesale Food Disposal. Instructions were given, recommendations were made on a case-by-case basis, and no violations were found.
