Greece:- Coronavirus: 1914 new cases in 24hrs. Record Deaths.

The number of new cases of coronavirus in our country remains at high levels.

The intensity of the coronavirus epidemic in Greece is maintained, despite the decrease in diagnoses, which is attributed to the conduct of fewer tests.

In particular, on the afternoon of Sunday (08/11) the National Organization of Public Health announced that the new laboratory confirmed cases of the disease are 1914, of which 39 were identified after checks at the country’s gates.

The total number of cases is 56698 (daily change + 3.5%), of which 54.2% are men. 4429 (7.8%) are considered related to travel from abroad and 15678 (27.7%) are related to an already known case.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 228. Their median age is 66 years. 57 (25.0%) are women and the rest men. 88.2% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are aged 70 years or older.

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 35, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 784 deaths have been recorded. 316 (40.3%) were women and the rest were men. The median age of our dying fellow citizens was NA years and 96.4% had an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.

323 patients who have left the ICU. In the last 24 hours, 15,112 molecular tests and 1022 rapid tests were performed. The positivity rate stood at 12.7%.
