The distribution of new cases of coronavirus in regions around the country
In Attica, most new coronavirus cases in Greece are recorded for another 24 hours and on Tuesday, August 24, according to the distribution of cases announced by EODY. Specifically, out of the total 4,608 cases of coronavirus, 1,096 new cases are recorded in Attica and 402 in Thessaloniki. Crete remains in the “red” where a total of 344 cases are recorded.
A high number of cases is recorded in several more parts of the country. In Achaia the new cases are 184, in Larissa 104, in Kozani 114, in Kavala 128, in Messinia 146, while in Ilia 232 cases are recorded.

Announcement.
EODY announced 4,608 new cases today, Tuesday 24 August, informing about the coronavirus pandemic in Greece. At the same time, announcing that 326 intubated patients were recorded in the hospitals, while during the last 24 hours, 32 deaths were recorded. In detail, according to the epidemiological report of EODY:
The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 4,608, of which 23 were identified after checks at the country’s gates.
The total number of cases is 566,812 (daily change + 0.9%), of which 51.1% are men. 1 2 Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 170 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 1,923 are related to an already known case.
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 32, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 13,466 deaths have been recorded. 3 95.3% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 326 (58.3% men). Their median age is 65 years.
83.1% have an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,926 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 293 (daily change + 9.74%).
The average seven-day admission is 272 patients. The median age of cases is 39 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
Vaccinations.
A total of 11,186,043 vaccinations have been carried out +31.648 on 23/08/2021.
5,917,139 vaccinations with at least 1 dose have been given+12.340 on 23/08/2021.
whilst 5,635,437 comprehensive vaccinations have been performed +20.979 on 23/08/2021.
Zakynthos:-
A total of 45,456 vaccinations have been carried out (+149 on 23/08/2021).
25.387 vaccinations with at least 1 dose have been given (+64 on 23/08/2021). Whilst 24.482 vaccinations have been performed (+95 on 23/08/2021).
