On a speedy track of increase and a new negative record in cases and intubated
At a speedy uprise today’s scenario for the positive cases, Wednesday, March 17th it seems.
Full speed to a new negative record, with the message of November 12, 2020, unfortunately will be completely refuted.
The 3,316 cases of coronavirus that occurred and were recorded on 12/11/2020 was recoded as the most darkest day in regards to the pandemic in our country.
Today, at 12:00 noon, the positive cases have risen well over 2,000 and until the daily official data is announced, EODY has expected the cases to exceed 3,000 and more than likely to surpass the previous negative record.
At the same time, the situation remains marginal in the hospitals with the Health system being tested more than ever in the last few days, with the intubated patients being at 605 yesterday, Tuesday, while the negative record was recorded on 3/12/2020 with 622 of our fellow citizens admitted to ICUs of the reference hospitals.
The results of the laboratory tests of the National Sewage Epidemiology Network for the epidemiological surveillance of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in urban wastewater, which shows a continuous increase in the viral load in many parts of the country, were also foreshadowed for the discouraging epidemiological picture.
According to the data, the viral load is constantly increasing in the big cities of the country with Crete recording the biggest change. The samples come from the Attica Region and the cities of Thessaloniki, Larissa, Volos, Heraklion, Chania, Rethymnon, Agios Nikolaos and Patras for the period from 8 to 14 March 2021. Samples are taken from the entrances of the respective Wastewater Treatment Plants and correspond to the population served by them.
