Greece:- Coronavirus daily report for Saturday 23/01

OEODY announced today, Saturday, January 23, 605 cases, 24 deaths and 292 intubated with coronavirus in the ICUs of the hospitals during the last 24 hours. In relation to the cases recorded yesterday, Friday, there was a small increase, while the intubated, but also the number of our fellow citizens who ended up with the disease remained at almost the same levels.

Detailed announcement of EODY for coronavirus cases on Saturday, January 23
Today we announce 605 new cases of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), of which 4 were identified after checks at the country’s gateways. The total number of cases is 151,646, of which 52.1% are men. During the tracking it was found that 5,830 (3.8%) are considered related to travel from abroad and 46,753 (63.7%) are related to an already known case.

292 people are treated by intubation. Their median age is 68 years. 206 (70.5%) of the intubated are men. 84.9% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are aged 70 years and older.1.066 patients have been discharged from the ICU since the beginning of the pandemic.

Finally, we have 24 new deaths from COVID-19 disease, reaching 5,622 deaths in total in the country, of which 3,315 (59.0%) men. The median age of our dying fellow citizens was 79 years and 95.4% had an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and over.

More than a third of the coronavirus cases announced by EODY for Saturday, January 23 are located in Attica. Specifically, 244 cases of coronavirus are recorded in the basin, while in Thessaloniki there are 65 new cases.
