Coronavirus: New shock with 28,828 cases today – 620 intubated and 72 new deaths.
The information about the course of Covid-19 in our country
EODY announced today (29/12) a negative record of coronavirus cases with 28,828 new covid-19 infections in Greece. The country counts 72 new deaths, while 620 are those in the ICU. In fact, a few hours ago Thanos Plevris announced the new measures that will be implemented from tomorrow (30/12) in the morning.
The announcement in detail: The new laboratory confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 28,828, of which 19 were identified after checks at the country’s gates. The total number of cases amounts to 1,134,713 (daily change + 2.6%), of which 50.4% are men.
Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 215 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 1,488 are related to an already known case.
The 𝑅𝑡 for the territory based on the cases is estimated at 1.27 (95% DE: 1.09 – 1.45)
Daily pandemic evolution: The daily distribution of confirmed cases is as follows (the line represents the total, cumulative distribution of cases).
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 72, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 20,636 deaths have been recorded.
95.2% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 620 (60.6% men). Their median age is 63 years. 80.2% have an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 529 (85.32%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 91 (14.68%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,745 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 413 (daily change + 21.47%). The average seven-day admission is 330 patients.
The median age of cases is 37 years (range 0.2 to 110 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
The tests
Tested samples: From January 1, 2020 until today, in the laboratories that perform tests for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically state the total of the samples that are tested, a total of 8,140,319 clinical samples have been tested while from Health Units and Ladders of EODY that perform Rapid Ag tests have tested 38,139,478 samples. The seven-day average is 333,395 sample checks.
Self-tests: As of December 28, 2021, 66,717,139 statements of self-diagnostic results have been recorded electronically. Of the 3,825,103 people who came for re-examination, 236,121 positive results have been recorded.
Bulk Sampling EODY: On December 28, 2021, 151 sampling actions were carried out by the Mobile Teams
Health (KOMY) of EODY, in which 34,427 Rapid Ag tests were performed and 2,342 positive (6.8%) were found.
