Coronavirus: 2461 new cases today (08/05) in Greece.
EODY announced today, Saturday, May 8, 2021, 2,461 new cases of coronavirus in our country, of which 4 were detected after checks at the entrance gates of the country.
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 68, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 10,978 deaths have been recorded. 95.2% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 737 (62.0% men). Their median age is 67 years. 83.7% have underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,174 patients have been discharged from the ICU. The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 371 (daily change -5.36%). The average seven-day admission is 384 patients. The median age of cases is 44 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years)
The total number of cases amounts to 360,577 (daily change + 0.7%), of which 51.2% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 52 are considered related to travel from abroad and 2,062 are related to an already known case.
