The new cases of coronavirus today, Sunday, January 16, were announced by EODY. According to the information, during the last 24 hours in Greece 95 new deaths are recorded while in the ICU of the country 680 intubated patients are hospitalized. At the same time, a total of 10,783 new cases are recorded. It is noted, however, that on Sundays the tests performed are less compared to other days.

The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 10,783, of which 55 were identified after checks at the country’s gates.
The total number of cases is 1,660,871 (daily change + 0.7%), of which 49.8% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 506 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 2,146 are related to an already known case.
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 95, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 21,984 deaths have been recorded. 95.1% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 680 (60.3% men). Their median age is 65 years. 79.1% have an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.
Among intubated patients, 554 (81.47%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 126 (18.53%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,899 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 563 (daily change + 2.18%). The average seven-day admission is 564 patients.
The median age of cases is 36 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
The geographical distribution of cases.
In Attica, most of the new cases of coronavirus in Greece are recorded for another 24 hours and on Sunday, January 16, according to the geographical distribution announced by EODY. Out of the total of 10,783 new cases of coronavirus, 3,826 cases are recorded in Attica and another 1,146 in Thessaloniki.
