• 60-70% REDUCTION IN REVENUES BROUGHT MEASURES…
Restaurants and catering services on our island will also be “locked” tomorrow, with the businessmen declaring: “we are closing so as not to be closed”! This mobilization or demonstration is a response to the new measures in regards to the unvaccinated, which came into force a few days ago and have resulted in a significant reduction in the income of catering and leisure businesses. It should be noted that on our island this reduction reaches 70%!
The closure of the stores in a form of a strike, was initially decided by the Panhellenic Federation of Restaurants and Related Professions (POESE), in the context of the reaction to the new measures. As noted in a statement by POESE, “on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 we join forces and close our stores for 24 hours throughout Greece. Delivery of a resolution on the same day to the Prime Minister at the Maximos Palace at 12.00. Padlocks and job losses are just around the corner. “Respecting public health, we are looking for sustainable support measures so that we and our thousands of employees can survive.”
