Interventions in municipal lighting and sidewalks at Ag. Triada

Replacement of the electrical lighting facilities in order to reopen the lights on the sidewalks outside the playground, as well as the replacement of the slabs in places that had been broken by the roots of the trees, small-scale interventions were started by electricians and workers of the Municipality.
At the same time, residents of the area expect the implementation of flood protection projects amounting to 27,200 €, the auction terms of which were approved by the Economic Commission last November.
According to what is planned in the area of Ag. Triada part of the stream that descends from Bohali will be cleaned as well as the placement of a drain rail for the retention of rubbish (weeds, tree branches, etc.) also in the area of Ag. Triada and Dion Roma, two drainage areas will be built to connect to the existing rainwater pipeline to better channel the rainwater of the area that floods when it rains. Checks and cleaning will also be carried out on the rainwater pipeline.
In the area of Panagoula towards the traffic park a pipleline will be constructed with a diameter of 100cm with a length of 70 meters.
It is the satisfaction of the desperate attempts and appeals to the Municipality by the inhabitants of Agio Triada, in particular, who every year see the area invaded by floods, despite being on the seashore. As repeatedly told by those who live in the prosperous area, every year they experience the problem of mud caused by floodwaters.
The residents have asked for the direct opening of two transversal gutters to lead the rainwater to the sea through the EOT plateau, and interventions with having a ditch area open up  in the so-called area of “Panagou”. Also the immediate cleaning of the underground pipeline from the English Cemetery to the sea, flood protection projects in the Kastrokolofou area with Red Rock, and regular periodic cleaning of the involved manholes and shafts. If the work does not come directly from the Municipality, the residents are afraid that their properties will be flooded again, and life itself will be endangered.
