Orange warning for the Ionian Islands:-  Bad weather with heavy rains, storms and stormy winds.

 

According to the Extraordinary Bulletin of Dangerous Weather Phenomena issued today. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 by the National Meteorological Service (EMY). A weather system called ATHINA is predicted to cause bad weather from Wednesday night (06-10-2021). northwestern Greece, with main characteristics:

 

1. The heavy rains and thunderstorms in most parts of the country, which will be accompanied by strong winds and temporary hail.

 

1. The stormy south winds on Thursday (07-10-2021) in the west, whose intensity will temporarily reach 9 Beaufort.

 

More specifically, heavy rains and thunderstorms will affect:

 

1. TODAY WEDNESDAY (06-10-2021)

 

From the evening the islands of the Northern Ionian and the coastal areas of Epirus.

 

2. ON THURSDAY (07-10-2021)

 

The Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Sterea, Thessaly, as well as Western and Central Macedonia. From noon the northwestern Peloponnese and gradually the rest of the Peloponnese.

 

3. FRIDAY (08-10-2021)

 

1. The Ionian islands, Epirus, Thessaly, the Sporades, Macedonia (mainly central), from noon gradually the islands of the northeastern Aegean and Thrace.

 

1. The Peloponnese, Central Greece, Evia, the Western and Northern Cyclades, with a gradual weakening from noon.

 

ESPECIALLY FOR ATTICA region:

 

Rains and in places strong storms, will occur on Friday (08-10-2021) from the early morning hours until early afternoon.
