Greece:- Coronavirus: Measures reminiscent of the pre-pandemic era for those vaccinated.

The “green light” for the abolition of local mini lockdowns and for the privileges that will be enjoyed by the vaccinated has been “set’ today by the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris.

“Vaccinated people are entitled to and should have privileges corresponding with their contribution to the fight against the pandemic.”

Measures reminiscent of a pre-pandemic era

Today Mr. Plevris is expected to announce that even in the “red” areas, in restaurants and entertainment stores – where, according to the current protocol, only fully vaccinated people have access – music returns and now dance.

Also bars, nightclubs, etc., can also receive standing customers, while until now they were allowed to sit only at tables.

In other words, catering and entertainment will operate in conditions reminiscent of the pre-pandemic era.

These spaces will now be allowed to operate 100% full,

In addition, the traffic ban stops from 1 to 6 in the morning, while fully vaccinated people will not be required to undergo a rapid test, where it is currently necessary (eg for admission to hospitals, etc. .).

The proposal has also fallen on the table indoors, which are only for vaccinated, that there will be no obligation to wear a mask.

The parades of OXI to go ahead.

The decision of the government is to go ahead with palnes for the parades for the 28th of October as normal, as well as the celebrations of Agios Dimitrios in Thessaloniki, with a recommendation for a mask and distances.

The planning will be overturned only if and when in some area there is a large increase in viral load, while the Regional Governors will also have a role in the decision.

“The country has no chance of closing again. There is no way we can experience lockdown conditions again. There is the framework for the operation of open and closed spaces, which concerns the vaccinated and the unvaccinated, and we will move exactly in this way “, clarified the Government Spokesman Giannis Oikonomou, during the briefing of the political authors.

The government believes that returning to normalcy for fully vaccinated people will also be an incentive, especially at the younger ages of 18-30 – who also want to go out and have fun – to finally decide to get the vaccine.

For unvaccinated people, a tightening of some of the current restrictive measures is being considered.

Concerns about “conspiracy theories”

The government is concerned about the phenomena of “ideologicalization” around the vaccination, “which is based on conspiracy theories”, as estimated by the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris (Real fm).

However, the whole effort is focused on convincing citizens who are still afraid or are having reservations.

The government staff estimates that the hard core of anti vaccinators and deniers corresponds to 13 to 14% of the general population, and thus puts the burden on the “persuasion operation” of the “undecided”, so that the achievement of the “wall” of immunity can be achieved as fast as possible.

In the “arsenal” of the government’s arguments in favour of vaccination and the evidence that shows that our fellow citizens who are fighting hard covid and for their lives, are overwhelmingly unvaccinated.

Extremely revealing is the data given by the Deputy Minister of Health Mina Gaga (First Program 105.8), who stated that at the moment in Northern Greece we have 157 intubated and of these, only 3 are vaccinated.

Announcements for the new Advisory Committee.

If not during today’s briefing, then in the coming days, Thanos Plevris is expected to announce the small Advisory Committee, which will assist the Ministry of Health in matters of public health, including the pandemic.

At the same time, the Committee of Experts continues its work, which to this day makes suggestions to the government for the management of covid.
