Kephalonia:- Tourist hospitalised with possible monkey pox

 A suspected monkeypox case is under investigation in Greece, the Hellenic National Public Health Organization (EODY) informs.

“Suspicious case of possible monkeypox infection is being investigated. This is a tourist who, together with his [female] companion, asymptomatic, is being treated at the Attica hospital,” EODY said in a Saturday statement.

According to the release, lab test results will be available on Monday.

Shortly after 23.00p.m Saturday evening 20/5/22 a C-130 aircraft of the airforce landed at Kefalonia airport to collect the two British tourists.

The patient is a 29 year old of Romanian nationality who lives in Greece, however has been living in London recently.

He flew from London for a vacatation in Kephalonia with his girlfriend, where the first symptoms were detected.

The test results will confirm what the doctors are dealing with, of which will be available on Monday.
