NATO Summit: Greece positively evaluates Turkey-Sweden-Finland agreement

Greece is coming to the NATO summit with specific positions on the positive agenda of the Alliance as it is reported by ERTNEWS.GR. However, Greece is also ready to face any challenges from Turkey, while expressing its satisfaction with the agreement reached with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on NATO membership of Sweden and Finland.

Government sources point out that Mr. Erdogan’s idiosyncratic negotiation on the issue of Sweden and Finland did not last long.
At the same time, they note that this agreement does not affect the Greek side or the European Union’s relations with Turkey. In addition, the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO strengthens the European area of the Alliance and strengthens the position of Greece.

In particular, they talked with US President Joe Biden about Mitsotakis’ visit to the United States, with the two leaders expressing satisfaction with the success of the Prime Minister’s recent visit to Washington and the excellent level of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Prime Minister also met with his counterpart, the United Kingdom Boris Johnson, with whom he will have a bilateral meeting today, Wednesday, with the Prime Ministers of Australia and New Zealand, with whom he discussed issues of interest to the Greek element in these countries. The Prime Minister of Australia invited him to visit his country.
