New positive case of coronavirus – 26 year old kindergarten teacher

A 26 year old woman is the latest case of coronavirus at the General Hospital of Zakynthos, today 2/2/21

She is a Kindergarten Teacher in a private school, the management made an official announcement earlier. The 26-year-old has mild symptoms and will stay at home for the remaining 14 days, while the tracking of her contacts has begun.

With this we reached 36 cases since the beginning of the year and the 5th for the month of February.

 

The announcement in detail:

“Unfortunately, a COVID case has been identified for one of our Kindergarten Teachers in PARAMYTHOUPOLI in Sarakinados! We immediately took all the necessary measures provided by the relevant protocols! The department of this Kindergarten teacher will not be operational for14 days, all the parents were informed and immediatly collected their children. On Thursday or Friday we will do tests (both the staff and the parents of the specific department) and of course our whole school will be disinfected !! Obviously there is no danger for the children in the other parts of Sarakinados and also for the children of PARAMYTHOUPOLI of Panagoula!

We wholeheartedly wish that none of our children and no parent has a problem, We wish our Kindergarten Teacher a speedy recovery !!! ”

 

UPDATE

After the tracking from the above case a three year old boy has tested positive.

The boy had slight symptoms and his PCR test came back positive . Tests will be performed on his parents and his immediate family environment.

 

MESSAGE TO PARENTS FROM THE KINDERGARTEN

All parents have been ask to come to test on Friday 5/2/21 at 10 am

Although protocol calls for only the class where the teacher was working the management of Paramythoupoli have decided to close the whole school. In cooperation with Dr Damoulakis they encourage ALL parents to come to test  on Friday 5/2/21 from 10am. All being well some classes will be able to return to school from Monday 8/2/21
