Unemployment benefit: The payment of the 2-month extension of unemployment and long-term unemployment benefits, as well as the unemployment benefit for the self-employed, was completed within the timeframe announced by the OAED Administration to those unemployed. the emergency government measures to support society and the immediate and effective relief of the unemployed.
For those unemployed whose subsidy expired in March 2020, the first month of the extension will be prepaid from the beginning of the week and the second month of the extension will be paid in May.
The two-month extension of unemployment benefits corresponds to the following amounts:
Beneficiaries of the regular unemployment subsidy – up to 798.5 euros (up to 399.25 euros per month), an amount increased by 10% in addition to each protected member of the beneficiary unemployed.
Beneficiaries of the self-employed unemployment benefit – up to 720 euros (up to 360 euros per month).
Beneficiaries of the long-term unemployment benefit – up to 400 euros (up to 200 euros per month).
It is reminded that the payment is completed automatically, through direct deposit in the bank accounts and no action is required from the beneficiaries, such as application, submission of supporting documents, etc. Payments appear in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries within 1-2 working days after payment from OAED.
It is noted that only those who remain unemployed during the period corresponding to the extension are beneficiaries. For example, subsidized unemployed people who started working in the period after the end of their subsidy will receive a reduced amount, in proportion to the time they lost the subsidy right.
Finally, last week the prepayment of all unemployment benefits, maternity protection and Easter gifts was completed, also within the announced time period.
