Checks to implement measures to limit the spread of coronavirus
The Ionian Islands continued inspections by the Police Directorates of Corfu, Zakynthos, Kefalonia and Lefkada for violations of the measures to avoid and limit the spread of coronavirus.
During the period, from Good Friday, April 17 to Easter Monday, April 20, a total of 78 violations were confirmed for unnecessary travel and an equal number of administrative fines (150 euros) were imposed as follows:
– (61) in Corfu, of which (48) were pedestrians and (13) to drivers and passengers
– (7) in Zakynthos, of which (1) was a pedestrian and (6) to drivers and passengers of vehicles
– (5) in Kefalonia, of which (1) was a pedestrian and (4) to drivers and passengers of vehicles
– (5) in Lefkada, of which (1) was a pedestrian and (4) to drivers and passengers of vehicles.
It is noted that since the beginning of the measure on Monday, March 23, 2020, a total of (2,997) violations have been confirmed.
The inspections continue in order to ensure public health.
