According to the article of the Ministry of Interior No. 69207 / 07-10-2019, the following events will be held to celebrate the National day of Greece known as OXI.:
The Official Formal Doxology starts at 10.30a.m at the church of Holy Metropolitan, Zakynthos. His Eminence Metropolitan of Zakynthos, Dionysius II, will head the service with the priesthood of the city.
Those with invitations are asked to be officially on time at 10:15a.m,.Whilst Authority Officials should be no later than 10:25a.m.
Immediately thereafter a memorial service and wreath laying will take place at the statue of the Fallen.
In front of the Zakynthos Regional Offices at 11:30 am there will be a parade of schools from primary and secondary education. Bodies from Greek guides and scouts as well as local Cultural Associations in accordance with the established order.
The following events are invited to attend: ALL AUTHORITIES and CITIZENS according to the established order.
The Holy Metropolitan of Zakynthos is kindly requested to take care of the services. The Zakynthos Police Directorate and the Zakynthos Port Authority for the civil order. The Municipality of Zakynthos for the participation of the Philharmonic.
Laying of the wreaths will be headed by Mr John Kladis Morfis, the Vice- Head of the Tourism Department of Zakynthos Culture and Sports, with Konstantinos Kostakis, President of a Cultural Association.
We also announce that flags should be flown during a three day period. In honour of this event from 8am on October 25th until sunset on October 28th.
All Public and Municipal Departments and Buildings of the Zakynthos Regional Unit will be lit up for the occasion from the night of October 27th and 28th until the first morning of the following day.
