The recall of a batch of ice cream containing milk protein, while being sold as a lactose-free product, has been requested by the Single Food Authority (EFET).
It is an ice cream stick with dark chocolate from rice milk, of Dutch origin,
under the brand name “Bonvita – Bon Ice – Dark Chocolate”, in a package of 100 gr. per item, with lot number L8 / 78 and date of consumption until 31/03/2020.
EFET was informed by the Dutch authorities of the circulation of the ice cream, which was found to contain milk protein (casein) while being sold as a lactose-free product. As noted, milk proteins are allergens and they can affect people with sensitivity to them.
The EFET requested the revocation / withdrawal of the specific batch of the product, while related checks are already underway.
Consumers who have purchased this batch of ice cream are called, if they have milk casein sensitivity, not to consume it.
