Motorists will travel through Greece’s highways toll-free on the day of European, local and regional elections on Sunday, May 26th 2019.
The measure will be implemented in order to facilitate voters who have to travel to exercise their voting right.
Toll booths will be open for toll-free passage from 00:00 until 23:00 on Sunday and according to state-run news agency amna.gr in the following highways:
– Elefsina, Corinth, Patras, and Patras diversion road (Olympia Odos)
– Rio-Antirrio bridge
– Corinth, Tripolis, Kalamata road and the Lefktro-Sparta section of the national highway (Moreas)
– Ionia Odos and the Metamorfosi-Skarfia section of the national highway
– Central Greece highway and the Skarfia-Raches section of the national highway
– Egeou highway (Raches-Kleidi)
– Egnatia Odos
– Attiki Odos
The regulation for toll-free passage will be valid also on June 2, 2016, and during the same hours as in several regions a second round of elections will be necessary.
