Those who were lucky (a few) to find themselves at the municipal stadium of the island, were more than compensated from the beautiful football they saw from two teams, that are not active. The veterans of APS of Zakynthos and their elite Police Team on the island played, they gave it all on the field and in the end they shared the 1-1 draw.
In the competitive part, the veterans of APS Zakynthos, albeit with a few training workouts, showed that you don’t forget the art of football. The team of Nikos Kontonis (coach) encountered the young police team head on and did not show that it lags in pace and strength, in the whole match. The guests were the ones to open the score at 22′ with the header of Alkis Alexandridis. But that did not discourage the blue-yellows who came forward and had 2 great moments to equalize.
With this score both teams went to the locker room. In the second half, the team of APS Zakynthos pressed and managed to equalize, with Angelopoulos, to 1-1. Then the blue-yellow players lost 2-3 great opportunities with Angelopoulos, Nikos Marinos and Sakis Mouzakis to win. but that did not happen, so the two teams stayed at this beautiful and satisfying 1-1.

Also present was the president of the Association of Veterans of APS Zakynthos, Makis Pilarinos, as well as the honorary president Yiannis Mouzakis. For his part Mr. Pilarinos publicly thanked the Police team for its participation in the friendly, as well as the Mayor for the concession of the stadium. Next appointment for the team of veterans of APS Zakynthos is Wednesday 17th April at the municipal stadium where they will face the veteran team of Panahaiki. A friendly match in memory of Dionysis Kapandriti, who flourished wearing the jerseys of both teams.
