The re-construction of the stadium, at Ambelokipi, is in the final stretch.
By the end of September, 2019, just about 80% of the work will have been completed, at a cost of 293.000 euros, being paid for by the Perifereia / Region. Ambelokipi was chosen as it is close to town, is legal and is used by numerous teams.
Good news that has to do with the infrastructure of the stadiums on our island. This problem with the infrastructure is the big problem that, year by year, increases so much so that negative thoughts that the state has abandoned Zakynthian soccer, are created.
As soon as local league games are over, the contractor will take over, so that by the end of September 80% of the work will have been handed over, so that the teams will be able to use it, before the new football season starts.
The project includes changing the turf replacing it with new latest generation,
the placing of metal stands and the renovation of building facilities.
The fencing-in of the surrounding area will be undertaken by the Dimos / Municipality of Zakynthos. The ‘Enosiako’ stadium was not chosen as it does not meet the required standards (legality) so that it could be financed by the Region.
