Weather damages in Crete’s infrastructure may exceed €100mn (videos)

The video shot by a drone shows the damages and the floods in Chania Prefecture caused by barometric low Okeanis that stroke the West past of Crete with powerful rainfalls. It is mostly the infrastructure on the island that suffered immense destruction due to landslides and soil erosion.

The damages caused by the bad weather in the infrastructure on the island of Crete are estimated to exceed 100 million euros.

Regional Governor, Stavors Arnaoutakis, that the exact cost of the damages will be determined once teams from the Infrastructure Ministry and local engineers have completed their assessments and registered all damages.

He predicted that the damages cost will be over 100 million euros.

Infrastructure Minister Christos Spirtzis announced that Crete will receive 10 million euros in emergency aid.
