Whilst areas around Greece are showing extremely high danger on the fire map. Zakynthos is classed at level 4. Friday 6th of August, 2021.
Extreme fire hazard – Alarm Status (hazard category 5) are six regions in total they are as follows:
1.Region of Attica
2.Peloponnese Region
3.Region of Western Greece (PE Achaia, PE Ilia)
4.Region of Central Greece (PE Evia, PE Fthiotida, PE Boeotia, PE Fokida)
5.Region of Thessaly (PE Magnesia)
6. Region of Crete (Prefecture of Chania, Prefecture of Rethymno)
We remind you due to the continual high temperatures and months of no rain, Zakynthos is at category 4 (Very High Danger). Please help our Island by being careful when putting out cigarettes and when using inflammable objects. If you see a fire or are suspicious of possible arson please call 199 immediately.
