“Light” in the murder-execution of the 54-year-old businessman last May in Zakynthos was shone by the Crimes against Life Department of the Attica Security Directorate.
A case has been filed against five people, the details of which have been fully identified and of an unknown perpetrator, on a case-by-case basis for gang, deceitful homicide, attempted homicide and serial murder, dangerous bodily harm, arson, acceptance and distribution of crime products, forgery theft and gun legislation.
It is recalled that in the morning hours of May 7, 2021, two unknown perpetrators entered a business in Zakynthos where they shot and fatally wounded the 54-year-old, while the 53-year-old, who was inside the premises at the time, was also wounded in the shooting.
As they were leaving, the perpetrators also shot at the 43-year-old foreigner, who was outside the company.
According to the Hellenic Police, a specialized investigation was carried out to investigate the case, in the framework of which information data as well as laboratory data resulting from the analysis of findings were utilized.
Specifically, from the initial investigations, shells, projectiles and fragments of assault rifles were found and confiscated at the crime scene, as well as in a burnt-out car, which had been reported stolen and had fake license plates, as well as two Kalashnikov type assault rifles found inside the vehicle.
Subsequent searches, among others, found and confiscated a stolen car, a stolen two-wheeled motorcycle, two Kalashnikovs, three cartridges, 81 cartridges, a pair of fake license plates and motorcycle clothing.
The further combined study of the pre-investigation material gathered revealed the involvement as natural perpetrators of a Greek prisoner and an unknown perpetrator, while four more people are charged in the case, two of whom are detained in detention facilities.
It is recalled that on June 7, 2021, the case of murder against the 37-year-old wife of the 54-year-old was investigated, as well as the then attempted murder against him, on June 9, 2020 in Lithakia, Zakynthos.
All the accused have been involved in serious criminal offences in the past.
The case file was submitted to the competent prosecutor.
