Zakynthos:- The Zakynthos Volunteer Group sends palette to Evia, for fire victims.

The Volunteeer Group of Zakynthos has been able to send another load of items to the fire victims, this time to Evia.

As you may recall the group managed to send a truck to the mainland in mid August to Hlia where the team went directly to where help was needed most.

After Hlia, the group decided to continue its efforts by gathering items so that they could send to Evia.

With the help of volunteers offering their places for drop off points around Zakynthos the group were able to collect numerous items. A total of 28 large pacakges has been sent containing items such as pasta, rice, milk even new clothing for children.

The co-ordinator Louise Morfis mangaed to talk directly to volunteers in Evia, in particular Maria Papagorgiou so that the items can be delivered directly to where they are most needed.

The transport company “TRANAKAS” has offered their services for the items to be delivered from Zakynthos to Athens, from there the team have organised the palette of goods to be delivered from Athens to Triada in Evia.

Once again Zakynthos Informer would like to thank ALL the volunteers who took part in this project, residents and visitors to our Island, businesses that offered their premises for drop off points and others that help bring all this together. BRAVO!! Go Volunteers <3
