There will be no student parades on March 25, government spokeswoman Aristotle Peloni clarified, stressing that only the military parade will take place, which will be broadcast on television.
This development is due to the great pressure that the Health system receives due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and as Mrs. Peloni pointed out, this pressure on the Health system is predicted to continue for the next 10 days.
Therefore, the government decided not to hold student parades apart from the military parade.
“There are no parades on March 25th. “Only the military parade will take place and it will be broadcast on television”, stressed Ms. Peloni, talking about a “quality and very proud spectacle”.
2020 was without parades
As we recall last year on March 25, 2020, when we were in the first lockdown, military and student parades were canceled.
Respectively, the celebration of October 28, 2020 had taken place without military and student parades and only eulogies were performed while wreaths were laid.
Recalling that this year’s celebration of March 25 coincides with the completion of 200 years since the revolution of 1821.
