Coronavirus:- How to make an appointment for the coronavirus vaccination.

SMS to 13034 for the coronavirus vaccine – How to make an appointment – The role of pharmacies

Citizens can not get the vaccine in pharmacies – How to vaccinate the elderly in remote areas

The “Operation Freedom” in Greece continues with the vaccination of medical staff of the reference hospitals in Attica.

From January, there will be three ways for citizens to book their vaccination appointments.

From January 2021, the appointment for vaccination appointment by the interested citizens can be done in the following ways:

◊First: After connecting with taxsinet data on the website https://emvolio.gov.gr.

◊Second: Confirming the proposed appointment via text message (SMS) in the five-digit code for exclusive use (13034).

◊Third: For citizens who are not familiar with the technological means, by visiting for appointments at KEP or pharmacies.

Citizens will receive the unique appointment code-number, as well as the QR Code, depending on how the appointment is scheduled. It is noted that through the application of appointments, the repeated vaccination is planned at the same time.

Three days before the date of the appointment, the citizen will receive an email and SMS reminder for the day and time of the appointment along with a link to the website that has appropriate general preparation instructions (eg not to have a fever, to have the code, etc.), but also special instructions depending on the vaccine to be used.

The role of pharmacies

“From the beginning you will make two appointments for both vaccines shots required.  There is a platform on the site embolio.gov.gr while pharmacies are also recruited to make appointments for those who can not otherwise.” “You will make an appointment at the pharmacies, you will not get a vaccine,” Kyriakos Pierrakakis explained yesterday, while warning that “you should not miss the appointment, it is not a simple process, it is a tight process that needs discipline.”

Vaccination

The citizen gives the appointment code-number or the QR Code and the identification element (identity card, passport, etc.) to the staff of the Vaccination Centres. The staff, utilizing the appointment application on the tablets, will scan the QR Code or will search for the appointment based on the code-number and will confirm it.

The required pre-vaccination questionnaire will then be answered, which will include both general and specific questions depending on the vaccine to be administered.

Based on the answers to the questions, and after the doctor evaluates the clinical picture, he makes the decision whether to proceed with the vaccination and to make a prescription.

The Vaccination Centre also registers in the electronic application the details of the vaccine packaging, which was used for the vaccination of the citizen. In this way, the process of traceability and protocol is enhanced.

The vaccination is free and will be done in the organized vaccination centres, where a medical history of the citizen will be taken and after the vaccination a requirement stay of around 15 minutes for possible mild side effects. The vaccine for the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is administered in two doses at intervals of 21-28 days in order to be effective, hence having the second appointments planned in advance.

Citizens who have been vaccinated should also recieve a digital certification that they have been vaccinated, which will be for personal use.
