Femicide in Zakynthos: The killer was arrested – He killed her and went to work normally

The 51-year-old perpetrator of the femicide in Zakynthos was arrested shortly after 10 am.

As it has become known, the perpetrator of the femicide in Zakynthos is allegedly a 51-year-old man from Albania, who beat his 41-year-old wife and then stabbed her, on Sunday night.

Today, however, the 51-year-old went to his job, in construction, as if nothing had happened.

According to the latest information, the woman had filed a domestic violence lawsuit against him not once, but twice.

The first was on June 18. then he was released with a prosecutor’s order with a restraining order, and not to be within 100 meters of her.

However, after a while he was allowed to return home. Yesterday Sunday, she filed a new lawsuit against him for the same reason. Half an hour later, he murdered her.

Information states that the neighbors heard voices and notified the police. She was found wallowing in a pool of blood on the balcony of the ground floor house, with many bruises.

In fact, a neighbor reported that she saw him pulling his wife by the hair and telling her “I will kill you”.

When she was found, she was taken to the hospital, where she died. A crooked knife with blood was also found in the area.

The couple have three children, while the two minors lived with them in Tsilivi, where as adult child lived outside of Zakynthos. The woman worked at a hotel in the area, and the perpetrator, allegedly showed behaviour of  jealousy towards her.

Police had launched a manhunt to locate the alleged killer and he was arrested this morning.
