Forty-eight-hour nationwide strike on passenger ships (Ferry-Mediterranean / Tourist-Ferries) starting at 06:01 on 10-11-2021 on Wednesday until 06:00 on 12-11-2021 on Friday, with the prospect of escalation, decided the administration of the Panhellenic Maritime Federation, during its meeting on 27-10-2021.
PNO, in today’s announcement, speaks of complete reluctance and sterile negative behavior of the employer side, in order to prepare a new Collective Bargaining Agreement for the years 2020 and 2021, after two years from the previous year 2019.
He also stressed that the existing problems faced by the seafarers’ sector, which unfortunately, despite our constant pressure and protests and the respective promises of those in charge, not only are not resolved but continue to accumulate on a daily basis, culminating in a series of anti-workers laws with the pretext of the pandemic and the continuation of the application of law 4150/2013 for the reduced and special compositions on the passenger Mediterranean and coastal ships. He also claims that problems related to the granting of pensions and the health care of the Sailors continue while he states that there is now a permanent violation of the Collective Labor Agreements of S.S.E. and especially in terms of working hours and payment of accrued wages.
The announcement of PNO, finally, states that the sector is still affected by unemployment, without any measures being taken to recover it.
